Privacy Notice

This notice covers brightpass.me and the BrightPass email updates you can sign up for here. The BrightPass Guardian and BrightPass Kids apps aren’t released yet and will have their own privacy policy when they are.
Who we are
BrightPass is the sender of these emails and decides how your information is used. You can reach us at support@brightpass.me.
What we collect, and why

We send updates only because you ticked the box and then confirmed by clicking the link we emailed you. That consent is our legal basis for emailing you. We keep the record of it, and of any unsubscribe, because we have a legitimate interest in proving that we only email people who asked and in honouring opt-outs.
We don’t use your email address for anything else. We don’t sell it, rent it, trade it, or share it for advertising.
This website doesn’t set cookies and doesn’t run analytics or advertising trackers.
Unsubscribing
Every update has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click on that page stops the emails, and we act on it straight away. You can also write to support@brightpass.me from the address you want removed. Withdrawing your consent doesn’t affect emails already sent.
Who handles your information for us
We use a small number of service providers, who may only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores the mailing list.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Vercel hosts this website and, like any web host, processes your IP address to serve pages.
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection rules from the country you live in.
How long we keep it
- If you sign up but never click the confirmation link, we delete your details within 30 days.
- While you’re subscribed, we keep your details until you unsubscribe or we close the list.
- After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so we don’t contact you again by mistake. Ask us and we’ll erase it completely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of these, email support@brightpass.me. We’ll reply within 30 days and won’t treat you differently for asking.
If you’re in the EU, the UK or another country with a data protection regulator, you can also complain to that regulator.
Children
This mailing list is for parents and guardians. You must be 18 or older to sign up. We don’t knowingly collect email addresses from children. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete the address.
Changes
If we change this notice we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we’ll tell you by email first.
